From overwhelm to a purpose-built CRM for Shluchim
Like many Shluchim, Rabbi Yosef Romano found himself juggling countless tasks. As the Assistant Rabbi and Youth Director at Chabad of Berkeley, he relied on a CRM — yet the tools were clunky and the better options were out of reach. Talking with peers, he discovered the struggle was widespread.
A lifelong productivity tinkerer, Yosef decided to build what he wished existed. In 2012 he began coding. By 2015, Chabad Suite launched — a CRM shaped around the real workflow of a shliach. Today, Chabad Suite helps Shluchim worldwide reclaim time and focus on serving their communities.
We focus on understanding the shared technology needs of Chabad outreach institutions and providing a platform that addresses them with clarity and expertise.
Milestones
-
2015 — First steps
What began as a side project quickly took shape: helping Shluchim implement CiviCRM for a fee. As feature requests and support needs grew, it became clear a scalable model was needed.
-
2018 — SaaS launch
We transitioned into a SaaS product — hosting CiviCRM, fixing bugs, building new features, and providing ongoing support tailored to the needs of Shluchim.
-
2019 — Chabad Suite Website
We expanded into full website hosting and design, fully synced with the CRM. Bringing everything into one cohesive ecosystem simplified workflows and kept data in one place.
-
2020 — Fundraising tools
We launched Quick Donate, Partners, and Campaign pages — beautifully designed to inspire giving and fully integrated with the CRM, making it easier to run effective campaigns while everything stays in sync.
-
Today — Continuous growth
We keep building and iterating: strengthening the CRM, improving stability and speed, and rolling out new front-end features that enhance usability and the overall experience for Shluchim worldwide.
